I think the movie is very interesting so far because it doesn't seem as annoying as Frankenstein. The actors don't bother me (except for that crazy prostitute lady), and the shots are filmed in a way that flows smoothly. The plotline is developing smoothly as well, providing the audience with a reason for Jekyll to perform his experiments as opposed to the book where we don't really have a background. So far, I'm enjoying the movie more than the novel and both of the Frankenstein movies.
So far the movie is much better than Frankenstein and the actors seem much better. It’s different from the book but it’s an interesting adaptation regardless. Women weren’t necessarily involved in the book and its different to see they have a bigger role in the movie.
like laura, i also like that there is more background given in the movie as to why jekyll is doing his experiments. i'm not really sure how i feel about the roles of women though. it makes the movie more interesting, but i feel like if women were meant to have a big role in the story, they would have been written into it in the first place. i think my favorite part so far is when jekyll compares his experiments flying a balloon. i thought it was a really interestng analogy to use. it made it plans obvious without blatently saying them. i really enjoy it thoguh. its not as good as frankenstein to me, but i think i'm biased. great movie nontheless.
Honestly, I am kind of confused by the movie. I think this is because I am trying to compare it to the novel and figure out which character is supposed to be the one related to the one in the novel, and it is very hard to do so. If I looked at it as a separate movie not based off of the novel I think i would like it more.
I have a lot of mixed feelings when it comes to this movie so far. I feel that the female actresses in these movies are very corny. The acting just isn't that good by them. Thats how i feel about the movie in a negative manner. The movies plot develops very slowly and clearly which helps the audience keep up with the film and understand each shot. This movie isnt as good as Frankenstein (1994 version) in my opinion but its not too bad.
So far I have enjoyed this movie. I like that they have added a new twist of women to the original story because it adds more suspence and uncertainty of what is to come in the rest of the film. The movie also gives a reason for Jekylls motives which the book didnt.
i like the movie so far, because this film start with Dr.Jekyll, and we can kown a lot of things about him personal life, therefore, we can point out what makes him become Mr.Hyde.But i really confused about the characters, i pretty sure who is Dr.jekyll, but i have no idea who the other people are. such as which one is the lawyer?
Unfortunately, I was not in class for the viewing of the film and I'm not exactly sure which version of the film you guys are watching or how far into the film you all have gotten.
So far i give the movie props for representing the feelings i got from the novel. The film successfully portrays the high class society that we are inside when reading the novel. Also in the film Dr. Jekyll is a brilliant man with a open mind. He struggles with balancing his social interactions with his experiments. The film captures this well and uses the external battle to represent the internal battle between Jekyll and Hyde. So.. I like it so far.. Plus.. its intense... and it has captured my interest.
Honestly,I don't really like this move so far it doesnt catch my attention and it adds some stuff that the novel doesnt mention. The relationship in this movie make me confused. But i am so excited to see the part that how Dr.Jeklly became Mr. Hyde.
I like this film so far. In the film, I knew the background of the society and understand the reason why Dr. Jekll did his experiment. And the woman which is a difference with the book. the woman palyed an important role in this film. That is interesting. so, I enjoyed this film so far, that's better than the book.
The movie thus far I feel was just ok. It is somewhat interesting but some of the relationships are very confusing in the movie. I have enjoyed the film more than the book thus far.
Jekyll and Hyde is Stuntastic. I'm waiting to see Utterson, I'm getting the feeling that he's not in this film at all. But, Jekyll is doing a great job of entertaining the audience. Right now i am overly anxious to see the first appearance of Hyde. I think that the opening scene of the film was amazing. I loved it when possessed man stood up and disrupted the speech, what nerves. My favorite scene by far is without a doubt the bedroom scene between the (night walker)and Dr.Jekyll. Although the movie has been entertaining by far, I am sure that the best is yet to come.
i feel that the movie thus far is much better then Frankenstein. I personally find it much more interesting and i think the story flows much better and the actors do a much better job portraying the characters
The movie so far has been ok, if you don't compare it to the book. There are a lot of differences between the two. I wish Utterson could have at least been in the movie, since he was such a major part of the novel. He should have been Jekyll's friend in the movie or something.
The movie thus far has been decent; its still building the background story for the exciting part which is yet to come. I like all the equipment in Jekyll's lab; it's very aesthetically pleasing. I think I'll start to enjoy the movie more once the action really picks up. Dr. Jekyll alone is kind of boring, but Jekyll and Hyde should be fun.
